Bio

Kellie McHugh Dragity, vocalist, songwriter, entertainer, and music teacher has recently made the Charleston area her home after a 10 year teaching artist career in Washington DC. During her time in the DC area, she performed in multiple musicals and operettas, lent her voice to dinner galas in support of Calvert Memorial Hospital's breast cancer treatment center, and performed lecture recitals featuring historical music at George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate. Her light lyric soprano voice was featured in multiple performances of Handel's Messiah, The Lord's Prayer for weddings and memorial services, and the National Anthem at patriotic events and political campaigns. In 2018, she made appearances as Mrs. Spencer in The Little Theatre of Alexandria's production of Anne of Green Gables, The Musical, and as first soprano in the choir for The Arlington Player's production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

She has additionally instructed private voice and piano students from elementary to collegiate levels, most notably at Episcopal High School of Alexandria VA, and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church of Capitol Hill. In 2019, she began teaching General Music for Fairfax County Public Schools. After 4 years in this capacity, she is now employed through Dorchester District 2 and is delighted to continue her musical career here in the low country.
